The twinkling stars, soft glow of light,
Dark ink had dissolved in the sky so bright,
Giant trees did stand, their hands in sky,
The winds did sway the leaves so high.
The swooshing of wind, the rustle of leaves,
Some distant steps, might be thieves,
This was all my ear did hear,
Such loneliness did my heart often fear.
A tree so big majestically stood,
on a patch of grass, green so good,
Dry leaves did it shed,
Some tangled in my hair, some fell on green grass bed.
Away from the monotonous life,
Where you had to fight to thrive,
There I sat in nature’s arm,
In spite of wind I felt so warm.
The cool wind did brush my face,
The naughty leaves, before me did race,
The crickets chirped, the owls did hoot,
As alone I sat, on the tree’s root.
The nature’s play, I saw it all,
Even to me did it give a call,
But rather than join I did sit,
It was where I did fit.
The life so busy, had me tired,
Put all I had or else get fired,
With sagging shoulders, a sullen face,
I was about to drop out of life’s race.
A sudden plop above my head,
A soft silver light around me it spread,
Turned my head and looked above,
A tiny fairy stood, white as dove.
Questioning eyes, spellbound face,
I looked up the tree, all ablaze,
Merry sound, fluttering wing,
It said in a voice, almost did sing,
Why so serious? Give a smile,
Smile is what it takes to live happy awhile.
Another plop darkness back,
Was it a figment of imagination, a mere thought?
Or was it real, that I was trying to blot?
A smile spreads on my lips,
A message in my mind blips.
Just a smile, all is right,
A smile is what it takes,
To heal a heart and soul when it aches,
Light it spreads, darkness disperse,
In whatever situation, however adverse.
So, why so serious, give a smile,
Pain does it exile, happiness does compile,
Life glows, and you walk mile after mile!
